Start the new year out right by enrolling your child in an improv course with the Hideout Theatre. Classes are offered for children between the ages 5-17. Improv promotes self-confidence, team building and creativity. Classes will also give children an opportunity to make new friends and learn how to work together. Not sure if it is right for you? Don't worry! We have a free class scheduled for each age group on January 17 and January 21! The classes create a fun and supportive environment for kids to learn the basics of creating improv, story telling, and stagecraft, and are taught primarily through games, play, and improvised stories. Improv burst into the world fairly recently taking theater and shaking it until the resulting explosion created a new art form. In Improv the performers become the writer, actor, director, and dramaturge all together, all in the moment. The Audience doesn't just sit back and watch...they give suggestions and participate.
